OHSU Announces HIV Vaccine Breakthrough

    A biologist working in a lab(BlackDoctor.org) — A vaccine tested on monkeys may lead to one against HIV in humans, Oregon Health & Sciences University announced Wednesday.

    The findings were published online in the science journal Nature.

    The research team was led by Dr. Louis Picker, associated director of the school’s Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute. The effort also included the National Cancer Institute-Frederick and the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative.
