Diabetes hits home for many of us, with African Americans being twice as likely to develop this disease. As part of their in-depth report on obesity in the U.S. released earlier this month, the Trust for America’s Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation have compiled a list of the top 10 states where type 2 diabetes rates are the highest. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes and more than 80 percent of people with diabetes are overweight or obese.
