During the month of April, comedian and entrepreneur Steve Harvey during his award-winning morning radio show (one of his many jobs), will be walking on a treadmill, riding an elliptical bike, or climbing a stairmaster for four hours straight to raise funds for the Steve Harvey Mentoring program nationwide.
The mission of The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation (SMHF) is to provide outreach to fatherless youth, by promoting educational enrichment, leadership skills, one-on-one mentoring and global service initiatives that will cultivate the next generation of responsible leaders.
“I’ve got to change the attitudes, minds and lives of these young men so that these ladies and young women will have better choices,” explains Steve. “I’m riding every day in order to bring awareness and raise money for the mentoring program. We’re going to change these young boys lives for the better.”
Steve, along with a number of mentors from around the country converge to help to instill values and change the lives of young men who live do not have fathers in their lives. During the seven-day retreat, Harvey also provides session to the single mothers in order to empower them.
