Oil Pulling
Swishing a tablespoon of virgin coconut oil is great for oil pulling and has antibacterial properties.
Less Smoking
Smoking has been proven to cause plaque and tartar. Decreasing your smoking or completely quitting will reduce tartar immensely.
Eat Healthily
Tartar feeds on sugar and eating a lot of sweets will increase the tartar build-up. Eat more teeth-friendly foods such as; fruits, dairy, and vegetables and lessen the sweets.
Brush Regularly
Our dentists recommend brushing at least twice a day or better, three times a day after every meal. Brushing gets rid of bacteria, therefore reducing tartar.
Floss
Tartar and plaque get stuck in areas that your toothbrush can’t reach. Floss regularly to clean the in-betweens of your teeth.
Use Tartar Control Toothpaste
Our dentist will recommend a good tartar control toothpaste if you’re not already using one. You can use it as part of your daily dental hygiene.
Fluoridated Toothpaste
Using toothpaste that’s high in fluoride helps build your enamel and protect your teeth from bacteria.
Rinse Regularly
If you can’t brush right after every meal, rinsing would tide you over until you can brush thoroughly.
Drink Lots of Water
Saliva washes away bacteria stuck on teeth. Make sure to drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated and your saliva flowing.
Use Soft Bristles
Hard bristles can damage your
