Soul Food Sushi: Your New Favorite Meal

soul food sushiIf you’re not a fan of sushi, or just want to try it in a totally different way, go for a little Soul Food Sushi.  That’s right, combine your favorite soul food ingredients, but put them in sushi form. And it’s healthy for you! Using just about any soul food recipe, you can split it up into smaller portions and still have the same taste!

They’re not as different as you think.  Both have rice, a protein and sauce.  Check out one of our favorite recipes below:

Prep Time:1 Minutes
Cook time:1 Minutes

1/4 cup tomato sauce (your favorite brand will do)
2 cups of dirty rice (ground beef, long grain rice, creole seasoning)
2 tbsps gorgonzola cheese crumbles
4 large leafs of collard greens (cooked, drained)
freshly ground pepper
kosher salt

-Spread out each of the collard greens leaves flat, side by side
-Using about 1/2 cup of dirty rice on each of the leaves, spread out on each
