5-Step Natural Nail Detox


If you’re a fan of regular gel manicures, salon manicures, or even DIY home manicures, you may have noticed that your nails can tend to feel a little dry and brittle at times(mine do!). The various drying chemicals used in nail lacquer and remover seem even more damaging now. Here’s a few ways to detox your nails from all of that wear and tear your nails go through throughout the year.


Nail Hydration & Strength
1 teaspoon cocounut oil
1 teaspoon vitamin e oil
1 1/2 teaspoon tea tree oil
1 teaspoon castor oil

Coconut oil, argan oil, vitamin E oil, tea tree oil, and castor oil can help in the same way. Simply pour the mixture of oil into a bowl and soak each hand for 10 minutes, and massage the oil into your nail beds and cuticles to get the blood circulating. To really lock in the moisture, try soaking your nails at night and wearing gloves to bed.

Nail Growth

1/2 cup Orange Juice
1 clove Crushed Garlic

Brittle, peeling and weak nails are one of the most common complaints from girls and often cause nails to break before they can grow long. The orange juice is packed with Vitamin C that promotes the production of collagen and folic acids that aid in nail growth. Garlic is known to naturally strengthen nails, and is even found in some store-bought nail hardeners.

Nail Moisturizer

1 lemon, cut into wedges
2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
Coconut Oil
Warm Water
