The 46-year-old MC Lyte (born Lana Michele Moorer) began her rap career in the late 1980’s and is considered one of the first ladies of hip hop, best known for her hits “Lyte As A Rock” and “Cha, Cha, Cha,” “Roughneck” and “Cold Rock A Party.” She’s also an entrepreneur, voiceover actor, public speaker and philanthropist, and she was also the first African-American woman to serve as the president of the Los Angeles chapter of the Recording Academy.
Over the years, MC Lyte has been very private about her personal life, but recently, the veteran hip-hop star has shown her emotional side and expressed a heartfelt message about her own relationship to her fans who may have given up on finding true love.
