The death of model and actress Kim Porter took the entertainment world by storm. She was beautiful, had no history of health problems and was relatively young. So when she died, it definitely made people wonder. It was just revealed that Porter’s death was a caused by pneumonia, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office issued in a statement.
Porter was only 47.
Her Ex, Sean “Diddy” Combs, now 50, reflects on Kim and their relationship. Diddy admits he should have married Kim Porter when he had the chance.
“[Porter] was always ride or die. From day 1!” he captioned a photo of him and Kim. “I called her BONNIE AND I WAS CLYDE! This picture will go down in history as the first time I said she was MINE! AND THE FIRST TIME I TOLD HER I LOVE HER.”
He continued: “Little did I know I was hers. Miss you BONNIE ❤️ and will forever.”
“I was scared,” he replied. “I wasn’t ready and that’s it. I’m ready now, but it’s too late. Don’t be like me.”
She was found dead in her home in the Toluca Lake neighborhood last November. Her manner of death had been pending investigation since then.
Porter and musician and entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs were a couple for more than a decade until 2007. They had twin daughters and a son together. Porter also had a son from a previous relationship.
Beyond her modeling career, Porter made several film and television appearances over the years, including roles in “The Brothers” and the TV series “Wicked Wicked Game.”
Porter had been suffering from flu-like symptoms for days at the time of her death. The coroner’s report, obtained by The Blast, says that Porter’s bedroom contained bottles of water, sports drinks and Pedialyte on a nightstand, as well as a bowl of what appeared to be tomato soup.
The diagnosis was eerily familiar to the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown.
According to the report, Bobbi Kristina died from lobar pneumonia on July 26, 2015, after being in a coma for nearly six months.
The question still arises on how long Porter had been suffering from this, how long the doctor had been ignoring these symptoms and why?
Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs that can be caused by a variety of pathogens, including viruses, bacteria, and fungi. When you have pneumonia, the tiny air sacs in your lungs become inflamed and can fill with fluid or even pus.
Pneumonia can range from a mild to serious or life-threatening infection and can sometimes lead to death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over 50,000 people in the United States died from pneumonia in 2015. Additionally, pneumonia is the leading cause of death worldwide for children under 5 years of age.
What is the difference between bronchopneumonia and lobar pneumonia?
Bronchopneumonia: Characterized by patchy foci of consolidation (pus in many alveoli and adjacent air passages) scattered in one or more lobes of one or both lungs.
Lobar pneumonia: Characterized by an acute inflammation of the entire lobe or lung. Histologically, tissue changes are classified into four stages: congestion, red hepatization, gray hepatization and resolution.
