An Apple A Day Can Do More Than Just Keeping A Doctor Away

Certain lupus flare-ups can be triggered by stress, infection, colds, or even exhaustion. Incorporating apples into your diet can reduce the risk of a lupus flare-up because apples can possibly help regulate the immune response. 

Other Chronic Diseases That Benefit From Eating This Nutrient-Packed Fruit

So we know that having apples in your diet could possibly help with lupus flare-ups, but are there other diseases that could benefit from eating an apple a day? The answer is yes. When it comes to prevention, eating apples can lower the risk of developing cancer. The risk of developing breast, oral cavity, esophageal and colorectal cancer can be reduced by incorporating apples into your diet more often. 

Apples could possibly help with certain diseases like dementia and Alzheimer’s because of their quercetin property, which is a compound that helps protect the brain.

They can also help with chronic diseases that affect your gut such as Crohn’s disease because apples promote a healthy gut. With diseases such as this though, you do have to be very aware of how much fiber you are consuming because too much can cause more damage than good.

3 Easy Ways To Incorporate Them Into Your Daily Diet

Eating an apple a day doesn’t have to be hard. One way to incorporate apples into your diet is by eating them directly for breakfast or as a snack in between meal times.

Another way to add them into your diet is through substitution, instead of drinking a sugary drink filled with artificial flavors and sugars, try drinking 100% organic apple juice as an alternative.

You could also try adding them into foods you already have, add cut-up apples into your salad, or add them into your smoothies, and eat applesauce as dessert instead of ice cream or cake.
