Learn something.
Challenge your brain to learn new activities. This stimulates areas of your brain that are critical to keeping it fresh and sharp. Learning can come in many forms: taking on a new task at work, cooking a new dish, studying a subject you’re not familiar with and learning a new skill.
Utilize all five senses.
It sounds a little kooky but when you incorporate all of the five senses into your activities it will help to improve your memory. Your brain’s memory capabilities rely on making connections. If you can remember how it felt, what it tasted like perhaps, how it smelled and what you heard, you’re more than likely going to be able to remember that experience more. And because of all that your brain is stimulated on a high level.
Practice repetition.
Doing things over and over will embed the connections you’ve made in your brain permanently. Make a point to write things down as soon as they pop up into your mind. Repeat that thought and revisit it over and over to get drill it in your mind. Keeping a daily routine will also help your brain stay sharp and active.
