A single melon has twice the daily value of vitamin A and is a great source of vitamin C, vitamin K, zinc, magnesium, potassium, folate and B vitamins. Surprisingly, cantaloupes are actually a source of protein: 8.3 % of calories and 7 g per cantaloupe, which is equal to eating one egg, but without all the cholesterol.
