“Eating habits will take you a long way on the road, even if your exercise habits are not where they should be,” says Joc. Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure it is important that your body has the fuel it needs to run and function at its optimal level, which is why Joc makes sure his clients are consuming only the highest quality foods, from sourcing to ingredients. On the contrary, Joc stresses that “poor eating habits will definitely slow you down and reduce performance in all areas while on the road”.
From our conversation with celebrity super trainer Emory “Joc” Bernard we learned that no matter the fitness goal or desired outcome, everything starts with a decision to commit to the process, even on the days you are not up to it. “It’s all a mind thing, either you are going to do it or you aren’t, that’s all it boils down to” and once that decision is made consistency will get you to your fitness destination.
We also learned that you don’t always need a full gym, or even full workout routine, to remain active while on the road. You can incorporate walks, hikes, jogs etc through the towns you visit into your trips to ensure that you are still active and while adding a bit of exploration to your trip. Additionally, we learned that even when your physical activity may not be at your desired level, remaining diligent with diet can help power you through your trips and keep you from losing any previously made progress while on your trip.
