Cheap Ways To Clean Your Makeup Brushes With Household Products

how to clean makeup brushes

We all have those times when we are rushing out or simply forget to take the time to clean our makeup brushes. But we can’t let this happen too often. Makeup brushes need to be taken care of to maintain their condition and to be free of harmful bacteria. Just think about it: when was the last time you actually gave your brushes a good cleaning?

Makeup brushes come in contact with many things: going in your makeup bag, touching countertops, your makeup products, and then onto your face. These bacteria that are exposed to your face can cause acne breakouts.

For this reason, a Reader’s Digest article suggests that makeup brushes be cleaned at least once a week, or even after every use.

Cleaning makeup brushes may seem like an extensive task, but it is actually quite simple. It can even be done with household items, so no need to go out and buy another expensive makeup product.
