Growing up, Krishaun Branch used to be a gang banger in Chicago, where the life expectancy of young Black men is at an all-time low. Branch had no thoughts of going to school, let alone college. But he changed his life expectancy as being a part of an entire class of college-bound high school graduates from Chicago’s Urban Prep. He recently graduated from Fisk University in Nashville.
