Many people know her as Ms. Holla, or Grandma Holla, or simply the woman who made millions of social media users laugh with her enchanting personality and hilarious viral videos (usually filled with "tell-it-like-it-is" curse words), has passed away at age 97. Her granddaughter confirmed the tragic news in a live video on social media on Saturday.
“I wanna thank y’all so much for the smiles y’all put on her face,” Grandma Holla’s loved one said. “She passed away in her sleep. She went out peacefully . . . what’s really keeping together y’all is she’s not in pain anymore, no more cancer, no more morphine.”.

Born Helen Davis, many of Holla's videos show family members asking her questions or interacting with her at home or while she was out and about. All in all, she commentented on everything from eating healthy, celebrities, relationships, and then some.
In mid-2022, R&B singer Toni Braxton shared one of her videos on her social media page. This gave a boost to Holla’s popularity, and she gained a huge number of new fans.
Grandma Holla’s videos are recorded by her granddaughter Michelle Williams, who posts the footage on her TikTok account. She shot her first video featuring Grandma as a joke in August 2021. Her profile has garnered more than 800k followers.
In one video, that has 5 million views, the grandmother refused to swap out her beloved frappes for protein shakes, and her reaction was priceless.

Many didn't know that Ms. Holla had been suffering for awhile from advanced stages of cancer. Yet she continued on sharing her funny comments and sayings that made everyone fall in love with her.

Even in pain, Holla continued her quick one-liners and out-of-the-box comments that brought laughter and joy to many.
