“Frankie’s” story sat on Hollywood shelves for five years, but Halle knew it was one worth being told. “When I found out this was true and that this black woman had a white racist living within, struggling to take over her very existence, I thought, ‘Wow, that’s almost hard to believe,’ and if it were not a real story and I knew the real woman, I don’t think I would’ve believed it myself. So I thought this has gotta come to the light,” Halle shared in a recent interview with VIBE’s Milan Carter.
Halle hopes that the film will inspire family and friends to offer support to those they know that suffer from DID or any type of mental illness.
