3. Moisturize
Be sure when you are moisturizing your hair that you are paying special close attention to your edges. Many people swear by Jamaican castor oil and Dr. Miracles Temple and Nape balm. Either way, make sure you aren’t forgetting to take extra effort at moistening these strands up!
4. Loosen up
With the knot bun being in full effect trend mode it’s hard not to want to pull your hair up into a cute face revealing look. Only problem is that these type of styles require you to pull your hair so tight. Your edges are screaming and cursing at you the entire time because they are holding on for dear life! This may sound funny, but it’s the truth. Limit your tight styling options and stick to the more relaxed hairstyles. If you must wear you hair like this be very mindful of how tight you are pulling. Opt for a looser look if possible.

5. Wear a scarf
As much as you may want to go to sleep with beautiful hair and wake up with beautiful hair and not wear a scarf, this isn’t the route to take. Wearing a satin scarf at night not only protects and prolongs your hairstyle, it also protects your hair from damage. Sheets and pillow cases are often made up of cotton blends that soak all of your hair’s moisture right up out of it. This leaves your hair weak and vulnerable to breakage, as well as leaves your hair looking a mess the next morning.
