Popular YouTuber and self-proclaimed relationship expert Kevin Samuels has reportedly passed away at age 56. He was known for dating advice and YouTube videos where he operated under the self-proclaimed title of an “image consultant.”
Samuels has gained a following of over 1.4 Million YouTube subscribers and 1.2 Million Instagram followers through the way he addresses black women. His image consulting agency works with “men who want to improve their appearance,” according to his website.
Plug Talk’s Instagram account claimed Samuels died of “cardiac arrest,” but the post did not offer verification of its report.
Other Instagram accounts quickly latched onto that same narrative without offering any confirmation.
It appears that the reports of Samuels’ death originated from a single social media post claiming he died Thursday morning.
Samuels’ Instagram account included a video in which he talks about “modern women” and reflects on whether they are “a party of 1.”
Wednesday was Samuels’ most recent social media activity, as his Facebook had not been updated since at least Tuesday. His final tweet was posted in April, but that post was linked to his Instagram.
The last video he posted on his YouTube channel was about the aforementioned “Modern Women” and was published at the same time as the Instagram post on Wednesday.
