asleep at one point on Air Force One on the way back from a rally in Minnesota on Wednesday night.
A White House official said that as of Thursday night, the president’s treatment plan was still being discussed.
So was a possible national address or a videotaped statement from the president to demonstrate that he was functioning and that the government is uninterrupted.
Throughout the pandemic, Trump has downplayed the coronavirus and America’s 207,000 (and counting) death toll, which is more than any other country in the world.
He has also repeatedly compared the virus to the flu, despite knowing as far back as February that the coronavirus was more deadly.
Trump continues to insist that a vaccine will be widely available before the end of the year, contradicting the government’s own scientists.
He has resumed in-person fundraisers and held at least three indoor, crowded campaign rallies with little social distancing or mask usage.
And during the presidential debate on Tuesday, Trump mocked Biden for wearing a mask too often. “When needed, I wear masks. I don’t wear masks like him.
Every time you see him, he’s got a mask. He could be speaking 200 feet away from me, and he shows up with the biggest mask I’ve ever seen,” he said.
Longtime friend, and vehement supporter of trump, Rudy Giuliani also recently got tested for the virus. Giuliani and his girlfriend Maria Ryan tested negative for COVID-19 on Friday.
Giuliani, who spent last weekend at the White House helping Trump get prepared for Tuesday night’s debate, rushed with Ryan to get tested after the president revealed overnight that both he and the first lady had been diagnosed with COVID-19.
“All negative,” the 76-year-old former New York mayor said in a text message.
Giuliani, who also traveled with Trump to Cleveland for the debate, said his “security man” also tested negative.
Like the 74-year-old president, Giuliani’s at higher risk of developing severe complications from COVID-19 because of his age.
Trump isn’t the only world leader to contract Covid-19. Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan have all tested positive and recovered.
I read somewhere that one of the oldest tricks in the book is that “when you don’t like the conversation being said about you, change the conversation.”
You be the judge.
