Rapper Black Rob made a name for himself in the early 2000’s after being apart of Sean “Diddy” Combs Bad Boy family. His hit “Whoa” was on consistent airplay and was a club favorite.
It’s been recently revealed that Rob was in the hospital, according to an Instagram post by Power 105.1’s DJ Self. Within the video clip, the “Whoa” rapper says from his hospital bed, “I don’t know, the pain is crazy, man. It’s helping me out though, it’s making me realize I got a lot to go.”
Apparently, Rob also must’ve received the news that fellow DMX passed away. “I feel everything about X,” Rob says in the brief visual. “X was positive. Love to X.”
Details regarding Rob’s condition weren’t initially known, but the 52-year-old entertainer is visibly ill within the video. DJ Self captioned the post on IG: “Let’s keep our prayers up Black Rob! Get well man Please people out there take care of yourself. BR was one of the greats Had NY on his back like Whaooo.”
Rob has since taken to Instagram to assure fans he is OK and has been discharged.
His message read: “I thank you all for your prayers & concern. I wanted to let you know from myself that I’m good. I’m home now…!”
However, in a separate video message which has since surfaced online, Rob admitted his living situation has been far from ideal, and he’s trying to work with a friend to sort out more permanent accommodation as he continues to struggle with pain issues after a series of other strokes in recent years.
“Oh man, I’ve been dealing with this for five years,” he says in the clip. “Four strokes (to date)…
“I don’t know what to tell you, man. S### is crazy. This s### is hard. I don’t got no house to live in – except maybe an apartment. Me and my man be trying to get together. I’m telling you, man, this s**t is strange. It’s hard, you know what I’m saying…?
“I need some rest, man. Really, man. I need some rest. My side is killing me. Oh s**t. I don’t want to talk about it no more (sic).”
