Actor Shemar Moore played a lot of things on screen: doctor, playboy, son, boy toy, and SWAT team expert on the long-running S.W.A.T. TV show on CBS. But now the 52-year-old handsome actor is finally playing the biggest role of his life off-screen: the role of a dad. The actor took to Instagram with the first photo of his baby girl who was just a few hours old and fans are swooning over the adorable daddy-daughter moment. Keep scrolling to see the cutie!
“FRANKIE MOORE!!!! BABY GIRL in da building!!! Born January 24… at 3:38pm,” captioned an Instagram photo on Wednesday (Jan. 25) that showed him cuddling with his daughter. “10 fingers n 10 toes… Already THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!!”
He continued, “I’m a Girl Daddy!!!! HOLY SHIT!!! DREAMS COME TRUE!! Grandma Marilyn is in heaven puff puff passing, drinking her wine, and doing her happy dance. I LOVE and MISS YOU everyday Mom. Frankie is gonna grow up to be a KILLA!!! Watch out World, here comes ‘Frankie Muthaf*kkin Moore.’”
Baby Frankie is the actor’s first child ever with his partner Jesiree Dizon. This is Dizon’s third. Earlier this month, the proud parents learned they were expecting a baby girl with an outdoor gender reveal party.
The baby’s birth is not only special because she’s his first. It’s also special because she was born on his late mother’s birthday. The star opened up on 2020 after she, Marylin Joan Wilson-Moore, had passed.
“This is real life,” he began in one Instagram video while staring into the camera. “It’s not a game. It’s not a joke. I’m hurting real bad.”
“I’ve been offline for some weeks now. I’ve had to keep a secret out of respect to my mom,” he said, before revealing that Wilson-Moore had passed away on February 8 due to multiple sclerosis and a heart condition. She was 76 years old.
“I miss her more than I ever thought possible and I don’t know how to do this life without her,” he wrote in a caption, “but I get my STRENGTH from her and I will be OK because of HER.”
“I’m so excited. I’m sorry she can’t be here,” Moore mentioned in an interview talking about his then yet-born daughter. “I was worried for a while that it was a ‘that ship has sailed’ kind of thing but God had my back, and things lined up.”
Moore continued, “It’s going to be the best part of… My life is already pretty grand, but I know whenever God does call my name, once I get this experience, I’ll be able to go to heaven whole.”
Just before his mother’s death in 2020, he told PEOPLE he had shown her a sprawling 9,000-square-foot Los Angeles home he intended to buy, seeking her approval before he signed an offer.
“I brought my mom to the house,” the Criminal Minds alum told PEOPLE at the time. “She looked around and then she said, ‘This is my son’s home. I’m proud of you, Boo. And I hope it gives you a great life.’ ”
The actor became determined to keep her memory alive in his new home.
“My house is beautiful, but it’s empty without her,” said Moore of his 7-bedroom, 9-bathroom abode. “There’s always going to be that void. But I’m doing my best to make it me, to make it my mother’s son’s home.”
