In Diggins’ home, the division of labor was simple. Mom was in charge of the academics, stepdad covered the basketball. “Renee raised the academic bar and I raised the athletic bar,” Scott says. “No matter how high, Skylar exceeded them.”
“A lot of times to our surprise,” Renee adds.
Don’t think that the mother-and-daughter bond Sklar and Renee share was only while she was growing up. Nope, it’s still there and stronger than ever as Skylar navigates her way through professional basketball and stardom.
“If it wasn’t for my mom, I am absolutely positive, I would have gone crazy.”
