Tamar Braxton: “A Lot Of People Don’t Get Second Chances”
R&B singer, former talk show host, and talented family member Tamar Braxton has got another shot on daytime TV. The “Love & War” singer will be the star of her own reality series, Get Ya Life, the reality star and singer is now offering fans more details on what her new show will entail.
In an Instagram Live story captured by TheJasmineBrand, Braxton revealed that her new series will center around her personal life, as well as her public drama.
“So, it’s a show that originally was supposed to be about my life and me putting together a possible record,” Braxton said in the video snippet. “And how my life is now without Vince [Herbert] in the picture, me dating David, me being a single mom and also running my businesses all myself, without an agent, without a manager but also elevating.”
As you may recall, Braxton was going through a lot in the public spotlight after being fired from her daytime talk show, The Real, and divorcing her ex-husband and manager, Vincent.
“And that’s the reason I don’t have an agent or a manager because sometimes you outgrow situations,” Tamar continued. “Sometimes the people around you keep you stifled and down. So, this show is about me breaking out and being everything that I am. And once again — I’m not going to say too much — but hopefully, that’s y’all get to see.”
“Praise God? I’ma leave that there for now,” she added.
Braxton got another second chance when she was on “Dancing With the Stars”, but those dreams came to a halt when she was rushed to the hospital.
Back in November of 2015, Braxton, now 43, announced alongside partner Val Chmerkovskiy that she had to drop out of the competition.
Braxton was rushed to the hospital during dress rehearsal for an episode. Despite missing most of the show, she was not eliminated from the competition after making a dramatic, last-minute return 20 minutes before the end of the broadcast and participating in a group performance.
During the show, Chmerkovskiy said Braxton “came on the lot 15 minutes before we danced, sick with pneumonia and exhausted.” But Braxton was actually suffering from condition called thoracic outlet syndrome. It causes problems with blood vessels and veins in the neck and chest area due to compression with pulmonary embolism.
A pulmonary embolism is a blood clot that occurs in the lungs.
Pulmonary embolisms can damage part of the lung due to restricted blood flow, decrease oxygen levels in the blood, and damage other organs. Large or multiple blood clots can be fatal.
Pulmonary embolisms are most often caused by deep vein thrombosis, a condition in which blood clots form in veins deep in the body. The blood clots that most often cause pulmonary embolisms typically begin…
