The Daniel Diet (or the Daniel Fast, as it’s called in religious sectors) has become very popular in the last decade.
Celebrities such as Chris Pratt have begun doing the diet and have been encouraging others to do the same.
The best part of the diet is focusing on what you can eat, rather than on what you can’t.
What is The Daniel Fast?
The Daniel Fast is actually from the Bible. Particularly from the prophet Daniel, who for three weeks ate no “pleasant” foods.
- “In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.” Daniel 10:12-13
This means that the only things Daniel ate during this three week period are what we would call a plant-based diet.
Anything that didn’t come from a seed was not eaten.
Daniel believed that this fast caused him to become stronger physically, mentally, and spiritually. If you would like to try this, here is a list of things that you can eat during this diet.
