BlackDoctor.org (BDO) commenced its annual Top Blacks in Healthcare (TBH) two-day event with its first inaugural class of the TBH Hall of Fame. The event, which was launched in honor of BDO’s 10th anniversary of TBH served as a powerful reminder of the impact the 11 inductees have had on the landscape of healthcare in the Black community.
This marks a pivotal moment for BDO and solidifies its role as the leading health and wellness platform for communities of color. It also highlights BDO’s dedication to preserving and celebrating the legacy of Black excellence in healthcare.

BlackDoctor.org highlighted the milestone with a special exhibit dedicated to the newly inducted Hall of Fame inductees.
Through the exhibit, attendees were able to delve deeper into the journeys of the Hall of Famers and the mark they have made in the history of healthcare.
Following the event, the moving display will continue to chronicle the remarkable achievements, pivotal moments, and lasting impact of the distinguished inductees.
The welcome reception and Hall of Fame event also served as a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the TBH Awards, with past honorees joining and being highlighted to celebrate this significant milestone for BDO.
In a special moment during the event, Reggie Ware, Founder and CEO of BlackDoctor.org, proudly introduced BDO’s newest team member, Akinwole Garrett, who joins as President and Chief Operating Officer. Garrett’s appointment signals an exciting new chapter in BDO’s evolution—one he referred to as “BDO 2.0”—representing a bold vision for innovation, strategic growth, and deeper community impact in the years ahead.
Looking forward, BDO will build on the impact of its first TBH Hall of Fame class. The organization announced plans to continue honoring the legacy of this year’s inductees through an upcoming Hall of Fame tour. With this tour, BDO will ensure that the stories and achievements of these medical giants reach wider audiences and pave the way for future leaders in the field.
