Berlin is a vibrant city filled with a lot of history, sights, and good eats. As the capital and largest city in Germany, everything around you can be joyfully overwhelming. So, how do you make the most of 24 hours? Find out where the action is!
During my recent visit, I had a chance to explore the best of Berlin in less than 24 hours and I’ll be planning another trip soon! Here are some tips to help you navigate your first 24 hours:
1. City Circle Sightseeing Bus Tour
If you’re only in Berlin for a few hours or days, do yourself a favor and sign up for a bus tour. Don’t worry. You’ll still get a chance to accumulate steps and see the beauty of the city on foot.
Take the popular Berlin Hop On-Hop Off double-decker bus tour with City Circle Sightseeing Bus. You’ll see Berlin at your own pace and have the choice to design your travel experience with over 10 stops of attractions including Brandenburg Gate, Berlin Wall, Charlottenburg Palace, and Potsdamer Platz. Buses run every 10 minutes so you’ll be able to jump off at one landmark and hop back on the bus to explore what’s next.
2. Berlin Welcome Card
Do you have a list of attractions to cover on your Berlin to-do list? Well, you can see a plethora of popular sites with the Berlin Welcome Card!
This all-in-one access card gives you discounted rates to over 200 venues. You can use your Berlin Welcome Card to get discounts at many restaurants such as Aapka – Indian Restaurant, Knofel – the garlic restaurant, and RITTER SPORT Colourful ChocoWorld. You’ll also get free access to over 30 Berlin highlights including the Berlin City Circle Sightseeing, German Spy Museum, Berlin Television Tower, and Berlin Dungeon.
3. Accommodations
What’s the most cost-effective way to explore all that Berlin has to offer in the shortest amount of time? Book a hotel stay in the center of all the action!
During my visit to Berlin, I stayed at Grimm’s Hotel at Postdamer Platz. This award-winning hotel was established in 2015 so you’ll be one of the first to experience the modern-day enchantment that this hotel offers. Each floor reveals the stories of the Brothers Grimm and stimulates your imagination in a way that takes you back to all your childhood dreams.
You’ll also be able to enjoy a breakfast that perfectly caters to meat lovers, vegetarians, and vegans. The hotel offers a selection of fruits, juices, and breakfast must-haves to ensure you are prepared for the day ahead.
When you’re ready to explore, you’ll be steps away from Arkaden Mall, museums, restaurants, Mall of Berlin, and top city attractions! The Grimm is perfectly positioned to provide you with a relaxing, tranquil environment by giving you exposure to city life within a few minutes.
After 24 hours in Berlin, you’ll be tempted to extend your stay or book another trip!
