The weather has finally taken a turn for the better, and rather than working out inside why not go out and enjoy the fresh air? Here are seven fun ways to workout outside this spring and summer!
1. Try yoga in the park.
Have a local park or even a beach you can jog to? Take a yoga mat and some good tunes and get your stretch on. There’s something about the fresh air coupled with the relaxing sounds of nature that take your yoga experience to the next level.
2. Use a park bench.
Something as simple as a sturdy park bench can be the key piece to your next workout. You can do squats, push ups, skip ups, stretches, dolphin kicks, etc. Bring some free weights and a bit of creativity and you can get a good sweat going while working every part of your body.3. Go for a swim.
Water workouts are the best because they work every muscle in the body while fulfilling your need for cardio at the same time. Not to mention, on a hot day it feels so refreshing!
4. Go sightseeing.
Is there a part of the community you’ve always talked about going to explore? Why not use that as a reason to get out the house and go for a jog, bike or even brisk walk. You can kill two birds with one stone, and hey, it won’t even feel like a workout because you will be focused on what’s going on around you.
5. Walk Fido.
The sun is out and your doggy is anxious to get out and about, too. Why not grab your sneakers and go for a brisk jog while your at it. No sense in letting him get all the calorie burning action!
6. Play with the kids.
Why not take the kids to the park and toss around that football or Frisbee? Not only will you get to spend some quality time with your favorite little people, you get in a quick, fun workout as well.
7. Go for a hike.
Is there a local park or mountain nearby with a hiking path? Get your boots on and try it out. You may be exhausted when you finish it, but the reward of seeing what you’ve accomplished at the end will be so worth it!
