MTV’s reality basketball series “Who’s Got Game” creator Ben Stephens wants to create a new 10 episode web-series titled Blacktop Battle Championships featuring full-court [45×60 court size]1on1 battles between the best playground players in the world and to raise the money for that project he’s not turning to a big name Hollywood studio but rather the project-funding platform Kickstarter.

On the Kick-start page Ben Stephens and his team write:
“Our goal is to produce this unique basketball project outside of the typical Hollywood studio system where we believe that you, the audience, fans, and community would never be allowed to enjoy this concept the way it was originally conceived.”

The production will cost $153,900 to produce and if you are huge basketball fan this a project that you want to support.
The Blacktop Battle project Kick starter page is being promoted with incentives and rewards. For example $25 will earn you a digital download of the project while $10,000 will earn you an Executive Producer credit and two round trip tickets to the games with courtside seats.
There are under 30 days left to fully fund the project and if all goes well Ben Stephens might have found himself a new way to fund future projects outside the Hollywood system.
