Beauty routine? Yeah right. You hit the snooze button one too many times, and now you’re LATE. And we’d be willing to bet this isn’t the first time this week that this has happened.
But no worries – even if you’d rather hit snooze one more time than get up and get ready, here are some real ways to get you going each morning:
1. Be Real
Admit you have a problem. Everyone encounters delaying situations, but not everyone is late all the time. If you’re always delayed, maybe you’re miscalculating how much time you need to get to where you need to be.
Leave earlier than you usually do. If you usually leave the house at 7:45 a.m., make a point of leaving at 7:15 a.m. You’ll likely be early, but that’s better than the opposite.
2. Reward Yourself
Why not reverse the process of getting your gratification? Plan on arriving earlier than the early arrivers. Make it fun, track your progress, and reward yourself when you “win.”
If it’s that dress you wanted or those shoes, get them as your present to yourself for being early (trust me, it works). This will also give you a chance to be in the early arriver’s shoes and experience the feeling of waiting for those who are late.
3. Use The Power of “They”
One of the best motivators is a hater. Nothing spurs people on like a hater trying to hate on your success. So what do you do? You become even more successful.
The same thing applies to your time. “They” don’t want you to be on time, so what do you need to do? Be on time and even early to show “them” that you are better than they ever thought you were.
And if that wasn’t enough, there are a few easy things you can do to make sure you always look beautiful before running out the door:
- Skin (pimples/Adult Acne). A dab of Visine will help take the red out of a pimple.
- Eyes. A Q-tip dipped in eye cream can easily clean up any mistakes or smudges from your eye makeup application.
- Lips. Use a bit of foundation on your lips before applying your lipstick. It will help the color stay all day.
- Lashes. Heat your eyelash curler with your blow dryer for a few seconds (don’t overdo it!) before you use it. It will help lock in the curl.
- The All-Purpose Fixer. Vaseline is great for everything from a lip gloss to moisturizing your elbows, knees and feet.
