If you are like me and are anti-makeup during the week, then having untamed and messy eyebrows is absolutely NOT allowed and pretty much unacceptable. Going bare face doesn’t mean you have to look a mess. Natural beauty still requires some maintenance. When you aren’t wearing a full face, every imperfection is even more noticeable, and your eyebrows are center stage for attention. Here are some simple tips to make sure your at-home maintenance is done right!

Shape
There are some strange eyebrow shapes out there. Make sure you pick the right one for your face. The best way to determine this is by measuring your face. The start of your eyebrows should line up with the inner corner of your eye and end where the angle line goes from your nostril to the outside corner of the same eye. How high you arch the brow is your choice. I personally prefer a more natural arch. I am not particularly into the whole “forever excited” look.
Fill In
I struggle with my eyebrows being thick and having enough hair to make my brows angled the way I want. There is nothing wrong with a little filler if it’s done properly. I have gotten to the point where I can free hand my brows, plus I personally don’t like them to look too perfect. But, if you aren’t as comfortable there are plenty of brow stencils you can use for assistance. There are several products out there that you can use to fill in your brows. I particularly like Anastasia’s Dip Brow Pomade that you can apply with a thin-angled brush. Make sure you don’t over fill them and use light, short strokes to make the brows look natural. Blend with a spooly as necessary.
Clean Up
Any hairs that aren’t cooperative and stray outside of the shape that you have created can be tidied up. Use tweezers to pluck out any hairs that just want to do their own thing.
Trim
This is where you really need to be careful. When you start cutting the eyebrow hairs you can really do some damage to your natural brow shape. It’s one thing to over pluck, but when you cut your brows wrong they will continue to grow in funny until they fall out and re-grow in. Make sure you brush the hairs up with your spooly and cut the hairs at an angle that stick outside of your desired shape line.
