Water!
It’s a vital part of our everyday lives that keeps us hydrated and well, alive!
Unfortunately, if you’re anything like me, you’re not a fan of drinking just straight water. There’s no flavor or anything that makes it taste that great, so I tend to steer away from it unless I’m in scorching weather and it’s all I have.
This is for everyone out there who is not a huge fan of water, but wants to stay hydrated and cool this summer!
Here are some things and drinks that can keep you just as hydrated this summer:
Tea
While tea is known for all its amazing properties (and taste), it can actually be quite hydrating.
Fruits & Vegetables
Fruits and veggies are packed with over 95% water.
If you want something that can really quench your thirst, try something that’s wet like cantaloupe or watermelon!
Coffee
Coffee is not dehydrating despite popular belief. Try grabbing an iced coffee this summer!
Coconut water
If you like coconut flavored things, this is a perfect way to get some water in your system without drinking just plain water.
Oatmeal
It holds on to the liquids you’ve consumed and the water in them, like milk you may put in it for example.
Juice
Try to buy things that are 100% juice and have clean ingredients!
Smoothies
Smoothies are packed with fruits and vegetables, and sometimes you can add ice or even water to help make it cold or not as thick.
Homemade fruit pops
Try making fruit pops by using the fruit juice, a variety fruit and popsicle makers. Put them in the freezer and enjoy a nice, cool treat!
Soup
While soup is usually made hot, a lot of people drink cold soup to keep hydrated in the summer and it provides all the nutrition from the vegetables within it.
Flavored Water
Try drinking something like flavored mineral water or infusing your own water with fruits (or vegetables), in order to make it more flavorful.
Water can be hard to swallow for some, so try these methods instead. Stay hydrated and have a fun summer!
