If you’re a hopeless romantic (like me), you like someone whispering sweet things in your ear while you’re in bed. Well, you’re in luck. How about listening to breakout steamy Netflix hit, Brigerton’s star, the sexy Rege-Jean Page, read you something? Now you can.
Page has joined the Calm app with his very own sleep story. Titled ‘The Prince & The Naturalist’ by Victoria Gosling, it is a fitting tribute to his Netflix character, Simon Bassett, the Duke of Bridgerton.
“I know how valuable relaxation is for us all, especially in trying times, so I couldn’t be more glad to lend my voice to a Sleep Story,” Page said in a statement, per Mashable.
The story synopsis reads: “In Old England, a naturalist and his royal pupil find that Nature is the best teacher.” I’m sure many could attest that he could read the McDonald’s menu and we’d fall blissfully asleep.
This addition comes after Harry Styles was added to the app’s lineup of celebrity talent in 2020. Other big-time celebrities include LeBron James, Laura Dern, Kelly Rowland and Lucy Liu.
This new sleep story might be the perfect fit for those already mourning Page’s exit from Bridgerton. Netflix announced in April that Page would not be returning to the hit series, which is currently in production on its second season. Needless to say, much outrage followed the news. Page does have two other roles coming up, in Netflix’s The Gray Man movie and Paramount’s Dungeons & Dragons adaptation.
When it comes to being sexy, Page is not as comfortable with it as you may think.
Of course, if you’ve seen the show, then you’ll know that Bridgerton didn’t exactly shy away from spicing things up, with a number of sex scenes throughout.
And when it came down to watching those scenes, Page revealed his family definitely weren’t “sufficiently prepared” for just how far they went.
“No one was sufficiently prepared,” the 31-year-old said in a recent roundtable interview with the Hollywood Reporter. He then joked: “I wasn’t sufficiently prepared, and I was there.”
“I think people were grateful for the intensity of the romantic aspects of Bridgerton; I’m not sure how grateful I was to watch it for myself,” he continued. “It was overwhelming. But I think people were looking to be overwhelmed.”
However, Page added that while his family might not want to see those scenes too often, they’re still super supportive of his acting skills and the roles he’s getting.
“My family doesn’t want to be overwhelmed by my backside, specifically, too often,” he said, “But they’ll take it on this occasion because everyone seems to be terribly happy.”
