One of the most heartbreaking stories is that of the beautiful and blossoming relationship between jazz aaxophonist Jimmy Greene and his six-year-old daughter, Ana Marquez-Greene, that tragically came to an end last Friday when she was murdered during the school shooting.
According to her family, Ana and Jimmy shared a musical bond. She is said to have loved music just like her father and was a budding musician as well.
“In a musical family, her gift for melody, pitch and rhythm stood out remarkably. And she never walked anywhere – her mode of transportation was dance. She danced from room to room and place to place… She danced to all the music she heard, whether in air or in her head,” a family member told NBC Connecticut.
It is being reported by the Associated Press that little Ana and her family had just moved to Connecticut from Canada a mere two months prior to the school shooting.
The musician recently took to his Facebook page to thank everyone for their love and support during his time of bereavement:
“As much as she’s needed here and missed by her mother, brother and me, Ana beat us all to paradise. I love you sweetie girl,” he posted.
