On February 10th, Organic Root Stimulator (ORS), hosted an invite-only style & gifting suite. The event took place in a loft space decorated in green accents to match ORS’ unmistakeable trademark product branding.
The hand-picked group of attendees consisted of top media, bloggers, and influencers who enjoyed the many offerings of the style suite. The ORS Glam Team provided dry hairstyling for guests using ORS™ Olive Oil products and guests were also offered a full makeover by LAMIK Cosmetics.
Halfway into the afternoon extravaganza, a special panel discussion on “Women of Color in Fashion & Beauty” was held, with amazing panelists that included: Claire Sulmers, Founder & Editor in Chief of FashionBombDaily.com, legendary fashionactivist Bethann Haridson, Allison MCGevna Editorial Director of HelloBeautiful.com and MadameNoire.com and Shawn Tollerson, CEO of Namaste Laboratories (Creators of ORS Olive Oil) with moderator Harriette Cole.
Hearing the stories of different lengths that Black women in the industry have had to go through to make sure their hair didn’t disqualify them from opportunities really showcased the importance of Black haircare lines like ORS that JUST. GET. IT. The conversations we had were engaging and empowering and encouraged us all to further expand the representation of women of color in the beauty and fashion industry.
The day ended with a special live performance by Neo-soul husband and wife duo Kindred The Family Soul.
ORS also unveiled and distributed ORS™ Olive Oil gift bags which included its new refresh packaging and reformulated products including Sheen Spray and its Edge Control. The new products are available in stores. ORS continues to innovate new products for the versatile woman who is comfortable in her own skin and defines her own style through self-expression.
Simply stated, it was super dope to be in a room of men and women that looked like me in a week of fashion where sometimes it’s hard to find us. ORS carefully planned and executed an event that not only educated the attendees but encouraged them. –I’m ready to SHINE!
