On-Demand Workouts
A trend that keeps getting hotter every year is the on-demand workout. Your favorite at-home spin company, Peloton is expanding its products to include a treadmill you can keep in your living room and follow along with Peloton coaches through high energy treadmill workouts.
If running or spinning isn’t your style, you can row from home and join live and on-demand workouts with RowVigor. If you don’t yet have a rowing machine in your home, you can download the RowVigor application on your phone and take it with you to the gym to follow along with their killer coaches.
Fusion Workouts
Fusion classes aren’texactly new, but there will be more combination workouts coming to your city starting next year. Some of the new kids the block are Strong by Zumba, which lets you vibe to your favorite Zumba beats while doing nonstop bodyweight strength moves like push-ups and squats. Another new class pairs two unlikely workouts together: boxing and barre. These classes teach students to do strengthen and lengthen their muscles with ballet-inspired barre moves and speed and agility with intervals of boxing.
Short & Sweet Classes
To better entice people to attend classes, big box gyms and boutique studios alike are expanding their class offerings to include more express workouts that will kick your butt in a short period of time. Major gyms like Equinox have been listening to their members who need to be in and out of the gym but also get a serious sweat on in less time. You can expect to see shorter workouts on the class schedules of your favorite gym next year. But be prepared for a crazy challenging workout since the goal is to get the same results as you would in an hour.
Ninja Warrior Gyms
The American Ninja Warrior competition is now more than just a competition you can watch on television. Now you train like a ninjaat your local ninja warrior gym. Look out for new gyms that let you swing from rings, run up walls, and take on the show’s most popular obstacles like a champ. And with a lot of practice, you might even be able to qualify to compete on the popularized show yourself, by training at official American Ninja Warrior training gyms.
Mindfulness Classes
A growing part of the fitness industry goes beyond training your body to train your mind. People everywhere are getting more familiar with meditation and other relaxation and focus techniques for overall wellbeing. And now you don’t have to meditate alone. You can head to a meditation class to join a guide and a group of like-minded people to find your zen and a brand new state of clarity.
