A: There are three types of basic bumps you can get from piercing: follicular cysts, keloids and abscesses. The best way to get rid of a bump from a new body piercing is saline solution.
Saline solution – Pour sea salt rocks into a cup of warm water 2-3 times a day and soak the area of the bump in this solution.
Tea tree oil – Place tea tree oil on a cotton swab and rub it around the piercing hole 4 times a week.
Chamomile tea bags – Soak the tea bag in warm water and soak your piercing in the tea 5- 10 minutes a day.
Non-coated aspirin, sea salt and tea tree oil –Grind non-coated aspirin and sea salt rocks together then mix with tea tree oil and water. Place the paste on the bump for 60 seconds and rinse off excess residue. Do 1-2 times daily.
If the bump does not go away, please see a dermatologist because it may be an infection or keloid.
