We all get headaches from time to time, but when they become so frequent, something is not right. A headache can be a sign of stress or not getting enough sleep, but sometimes it can be an indicator of something much more serious. Here are four serious medical conditions that a headache may signal.
1. Stroke
Is your headache severe and sudden? If so, it could be a sign of stroke. Other symptoms include sudden dizziness, weakness, numbness, confusion, and trouble speaking/slurred speech.

2. Brain tumor
Do your headaches usually start in the morning, but get better as the day goes on? If they’re accompanied by nausea and vomiting, it could be a sign of a brain tumor. Also, if your headaches worsen over a period of time, then it’s time to schedule an appointment with your doctor.
3. Infection
Experiencing a fever or a stiff neck along with a headache could indicate encephalitis or meningitis, which can be deadly.
4. Brain aneurysm
If you’re having the worst headache you’ve ever had in your life and the pain seems to be hitting you all at once, you need to get the ER immediately, as it may be a sign of a brain aneurysm.
Pay attention to your body. If you rarely get headaches and all of a sudden you begin experiencing a flood of headaches, your body is trying to tell you something – don’t ignore it!
