The former stripper explains in a new video that her health journey following breast implant reduction surgery last spring has been challenging.
“Hey guys, Happy New Year’s,” she said in the clip posted on Instagram last month. “Yep, I did it again. Quick story time about the breasts.”
“So, earlier this year, I was like, ‘You know what, I wanna take out my boobs. I’m over it. I’m kinda tired of the fake look,” Chyna continued. “They’re too big for my body, too big for my frame, and it just doesn’t fit me as a person anymore.’”
The mom of Dream, 7, whom she shares with ex Rob Kardashian, and King Cairo, 11, with her ex Tyga, said she agreed to go down to the 385cc from 585cc first, but that's when she started to suffer from surgery complications.
“One of the worst things that could happen happened,” Blac Chyna continued. “One of my breasts got encapsulated.”
Chyna said she went to the doctor and explained that he said to go "smaller, and then smaller" again to see how her "skin retracts," as she didn't want to "be left with saggy skin" or "deformed" breasts.
What Really Happened to Her Breasts?
An encapsulated breast implant (also known as capsular contracture) is a condition in which a thick capsule of scar tissue forms around the implant, causing it to become hard and possibly even cause pain.
Causes of an encapsulated breast implant can be caused by a combination of factors, such as the body’s reaction to the foreign object, the type of implant used, and the placement of the implant.
If you’ve had a breast augmentation, it’s important to be aware of the signs and symptoms of an encapsulated breast implant, as it can be a serious condition.
Symptoms of Encapsulated Breast Implants
The signs and symptoms of an encapsulated breast implant can vary from person to person, but some of the most common symptoms include:
- Hardening of the breast implant
- Pain or discomfort in the breast
- Visible distortion or asymmetry of the breast
- Swelling, redness, and warmth in the breast area
- Dimpling or wrinkling of the skin over the breast
- A feeling of tightness or firmness in the breast
If you experience any of these symptoms, it’s important to see a doctor as soon as possible.
When to See a Doctor
If you suspect you may have an encapsulated breast implant, it’s important to see a doctor as soon as possible. The doctor will be able to diagnose the condition and recommend a treatment plan. Treatment for an encapsulated breast implant can include massage and physical therapy, and in some cases, surgery to remove or replace the implant.
Chyna explained that this “painful” experience “is something that can happen whenever you do surgery.”
“All of the times I’ve had my breasts done, it’s never happened,” she said.
When You Should Have Implants Removed
Breast implant removal is surgery to take out breast implants. During the operation, a surgeon may also remove scar tissue or silicone from implant leaks.
You may want your surgeon to remove old implants and replace them with new ones. Or you may no longer want implants at all. Sometimes, people need the surgery because they have had implant complications.
Why is breast implant removal done?
Breast implants don’t last a lifetime. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons recommends that people with breast implants have them removed or replaced every 10 to 15 years. However, your plastic surgeon may not recommend that you have them removed if you haven’t had any complications.
Some people opt for breast implant removal because the shape of their breasts has changed since their breast augmentation. Breast appearance may change due to:
- Age.
- Breastfeeding.
- Pregnancy.
- Weight changes.
Though Chyna told her followers how "expensive" these surgeries are and how she knows she's going to have to get yet another one within the next ten years, due to the "upkeep," she says she's finally feeling good.
"All in all, though, I'm very very happy," she said in Sunday's post. "I'm excited because I'm finally part of the Itty Bitty Tittie Committee"
"I'm excited for 2024," she added. "2023 really showed me a lot about myself and you guys were all like right there and supporting me," Chyna told her fans, even sharing a follow-up post of her shopping for running shoes, noting that it's one of her health goals for the new year.
