“When I was diagnosed, I wanted to establish a national breast cancer organization targeting African American women because I felt as though there was more power in numbers and information sharing across the country would be a powerful tool. I wanted to be a part of a movement of survivors because that’s what I needed,” Jackson said during her interview.
She continued, “I believe Sisters Network® Inc. is an important voice in the national breast cancer movement that’s used within our community to help women become knowledgeable about the resources available and provide them the support. I was fortunate enough to have my husband, my daughter and friends to help me initially. Sisters Network provides the sisterhood that survivor’s need.”
In addition to sharing survivor stories, BlackDoctor.org will also serve as a media partner to help spread awareness of the Sisters Network® Inc.’s 10-city “Breast Health Matters” Conference Tour.
