Talk slowly.
You may find some difficulty in speaking as fast as you did without the dentures, or even speaking certain words or phrases. When learning to function with your new dentures, try speaking slowly at first. In this practice, take notice to which words tend to cause your dentures to click or move around.
Try an adhesive.
This is a simple fix. Denture adhesives, such as Super Poligrip, are sold at local convenience stores and at a reasonable price. It only takes a small amount to secure dentures in place, putting a stop to the clicking.
Get properly fitted.
The most common reason is simply that the dentures don’t fit your mouth. That’s why they tend to come loose while you’re talking, laughing or eating. No worries! This happens because as your bones and gums change with age, the dentures no longer fit the way they used to. But, this problem is something the dentist can easily fix. Make an appointment to see your dentist as soon as possible.
