Back in January, President Biden issued an Executive Order entitled “Promoting COVID-19 Safety in Domestic and International Travel,” and it established air travel restrictions on many countries after health officials and the CDC received scientific data showing that COVID was spreading like a rapid wildfire through “ongoing person-to-person transmission.”
The coronavirus got so bad that it started to mutate into additional strains potentially causing people to get reinfected with the disease.
Even the World Health Organization reported that South Africa had over 1.4 million confirmed cases in their area. The six remainder countries had extremely high-risk levels in which Homeland Security stepped in and said the U.S. must “act swiftly and aggressively to combat the disease,” because COVID-19 is posing a grave threat to the health and security of the United States.
So if you had plans to visit family, see the Eiffel Tower, shop in Beijing, visit the Pope, or explore the great outdoors of the Motherland, maybe you should take a raincheck on your travel adventures to those countries for now. However, if you MUST travel aboard, here’s a list of seven places that the CDC recommends and says poses a low risk of contracting COVID if you follow certain health precautions.
