Freddie Jackson On Finding His Way

Freddie Jackson is most known for his timeless hits such as You Are My Lady and Rock Me Tonight (For Old Time’s Sake). Most recently he’s been in the news and media for his drastic weight loss which sparked rumors as fans began to wonder and speculate about Freddie’s health.

The good news is that he is alive and well. He’s doing great and although he believes that rumors can sometimes be used as fuel to go harder and be better, he wants to set the record straight and give his fans something positive to talk about. We had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Jackson and he wants all his fans to know that he’s feeling his best at this point in his journey and has finally found his way.

When asked about rumors, Mr. Jackson couldn’t have given a better response. “Thank you to my fans and to the rumors. They think rumors kill us but they actually keep us alive. They make us take a hard look at ourselves.”

The rumors about Freddie’s health proved to be only rumored as Freddie revealed his drastic weight loss was actually intentional. Some people happen to have an appreciation for the most iconic fashion houses. Freddie Jackson is one of those people. In order to fit into the exclusive designs, he decided to change his diet. This change in his diet led to the weight loss that gave rise to so much speculation.

It wasn’t until four days before his birthday, when he received a call after a routine physical, that he was notified of issues with his blood work. They proceeded to run the test and finally found that his blood wasn’t flowing properly because of his kidneys.

The doctor prescribed medication to Mr. Jackson, which he is still currently taking. This experience coupled along with his lifestyle changes have led to Mr. Jackson putting health and wellness at the forefront of his life as he has “traded in his martini jigger for a blender”.

Mr. Jackson is a big ball of energy these days as he uses his social media platforms to encourage others to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Just as he had to realize that it’s okay to slow down and attend to his body, he wants us all to do the same. “I get many calls from colleagues in the industry who are ripping and running, but they’re not taking care of themselves.”

Upon learning about his diagnosis, his manager canceled all of Mr. Jackson’s obligations to give him time to take care of his health, “I was upset about it, but it was all for the best.” Since then, Mr. Jackson puts his wellness before anything else, which can be tricky at times because he absolutely loves what he does.

Mr. Jackson is now working with a fitness trainer to help him stay on track. He typically makes time in the mornings to visit the gym. It’s a “come as you are gym” so there’s no fancy gimmicks or attractions and that’s something Freddie really appreciates. When he’s not at the gym or with his trainer, he likes to make “good use of time” so he’ll typically grab a resistance band and do low impact movement while watching court TV.

Another key component to Mr. Jackson’s new lifestyle is cooking his own meals. This way “I know how I’m preparing it and what’s in it.” He describes himself as an excellent chef and plans to release his very own cookbook called 30 Days to Romance.

If you haven’t been following Mr. Jackson on his social media platforms, you’re doing yourself a disservice. You can count on him to spread positivity, love, and light with his messages during his #OnTheMill segments, which are spoken live from the treadmill. The #OnTheMill segments have gained traction and part of the reason for it is because it’s truly inspirational. Even friends like Stephanie Mills reach out to Mr. Jackson to let him know that his initiative makes them proud. “This happened to me, but my story helps others. We can’t do it alone.”

Outside of the gym, you can still find Mr. Jackson in the studio. He released an album in June of 2018 titled Love Signals, which has a lot of great songs that will remind you of why you fell in love with Freddie’s music in the first place. This includes a track called Find My Way which came about as Freddie sought to find peace, mind, body and soul. “It took me a long time to find peace. Now I’m not afraid of negativity. I protect my energy.” He jokingly says, “I’m finding my way in the doctor’s office more than anything.”

He’s a hardworking man and given all that he’s been through, from illness to the stresses of the entertainment industry, he refuses to stop. He doesn’t take “no” for an answer and although the industry can be rough, he knows that his presentation and delivery is great. “I’ll keep going until I can’t sing anymore.”

He’s currently working on his next project, an album written and produced by Freddie Jackson himself which he’s excited to complete and share with the world as it’s filled with all the things that he wants to talk about.

There you have it! Mr. Freddie Jackson is doing amazing and he’s still shining bright. For all of his fans watching and looking to make lifestyle changes in the name of wellness he wants you to know that it’s possible. He always wants to make his fans proud and he hopes that his journey can serve as inspiration. Be on the lookout for all that’s coming from Mr. Jackson and while you’re at it, check out the latest album, Love Signals, which is available on all listening platforms.
