BDO: How Can Nutrition Affect Uterine Fibroids?
Dr. Linda Bradley: Nutrition plays a big role in health and for fibroids, in particular, if women lose weight many of their symptoms will get better.
There won’t be a food per se that I would offer or prescribe a patient for fibroid treatment. What we do say is that we should eat real food mostly plants and not too much.
Less red meat, less processed foods would be helpful for women in terms of maintaining their weight. But there’s such a conglomeration of things that we know and don’t know about fibroids and I just say in general good health.
We are what we eat is good for the body and may not directly impact fibroid growth or size but many symptoms will get better with a healthy diet
