Lil Durk Cancels Tour Dates Amid Health Concerns

lil durk

Rapper Lil Durk has been forced to cancel multiple shows in his upcoming tour due to health concerns.

As of now, the rapper has canceled multiple shows both on the European part of his tour and the American part of his tour. The rapper was also forced to cancel festival performances and an appearance at the ESPY Awards due to his illness.

After falling ill in Ohio in early July, Lil Durk was hospitalized after undergoing severe dehydration as well as exhaustion. As a result, Durk was hospitalized for a few days. The rapper released a statement to TMZ Hip Hop so that his fans would know what his current status is and what that means for future tour dates.

“My fans mean everything to me, you’re the reason why I do this… I was looking forward to touching all of my European fans, performing this week(end), attending the ESPYs and more but after performing and traveling daily I’ve become severely dehydrated and advised by my doctors not to travel due to exhaustion. Once I get my full energy back, it’s back to business which I’m looking forward to,” Durk shared.

It has been revealed since then that the "All My Life" singer has not yet been given clearance by his doctors in order to perform again on stage but that he is still hoping for them to do so. Lil Durk shared a statement with blogger, Akademics, to share on his Instagram page updating fans about his current health journey.

“Since I'm still awaiting to get full clearance from my doctors to travel and perform again, I have no other choice but to cancel my headlining Rolling Loud performance," the statement reads. "While I'm home resting, I am looking forward to my two homecoming shows on the 11th & 12th in Chicago. For the rest of the country, I'll be announcing new dates soon. #StillHealing,” the rapper said.

RELATED: Signs It’s Time to Talk to Your Doctor About Dehydration

It's important to stay on top of your hydration during the summer heat. Dehydration can have serious consequences, so it's crucial to be aware of warning signs before things get too serious. If you notice any symptoms, it's best to take action quickly to ensure your health and safety. Remember to drink plenty of water and stay cool during the hot months:

  • headaches
  • feeling thirsty
  • dry mouth
  • exhaustion
  • dark-colored, strong-smelling urine

To rehydrate yourself, it is important to drink plenty of water and pure fruit juice. Avoiding sugary and caffeinated drinks can also help prevent further dehydration. Be sure to watch out for more severe symptoms of dehydration such as dizziness, confusion, and extreme thirst. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.

According to Cedars Sinai, “Severe dehydration can also cause weakness or confusion. In extreme cases, it can lead to kidney damage, brain damage, and even death.” It's important to take dehydration seriously, especially if you start experiencing severe symptoms. It's essential to seek medical attention right away. Don't try to treat severe dehydration on your own – medical professionals can provide the necessary care to help you recover quickly and safely. More than likely, IV fluids will be provided to help hydrate individuals as soon as possible.

It's great to hear that Lil Durk is getting the care he needs to get back on stage. His fans are surely missing his performances, and we are sure he can't wait to perform the latest hits from his new album, "Almost Healed", for his fans. Let's all continue to keep him in our thoughts and wish him a speedy recovery!
