Peanut Butter Scare: Nationwide Recall

Peanut butter lovers, please check your labels and dates–immediately! nSpired Natural Foods Inc. is voluntarily recalling six brands of peanut butter and almond butter due to possible Salmonella contamination.

A normal=sizes adult who digests salmonella can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and even a bloody stool. But those with weakened immune systems, young children, and elderly people are most at risk for serious and sometimes fatal infections.

Brands affected include Arrowhead Mills peanut butters, MaraNatha almond butters and peanut butters, and private labels sold at Kroger, Safeway, Trader Joe’s, and Whole Foods.

nSpire advises consumers to dispose of the recalled product and contact them at 1-800-937-7008 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. CST for a replacement or refund.
