Amber Rose is taking her “anti-slut shaming” campaign to the streets of LA this summer during her first organized “Slut Walk” to speak out against the negative backlash she consistently sustains from not only social media trolls but the exes she once loved.
“SlutWalk”, a protest march that began in Toronto, Canada April 3rd 2011, has become a global cause initiated to challenge victim blaming in the cases of rape. Per the organizations website:
“…it started as a direct response to a Toronto Police Services officer perpetuating rape myths by stating “women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized“. The march and the issues it addresses have struck such a chord that marches have been organized in over 200 communities in North, Central & South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.”
Within the past few weeks, Rose has sustained public slut shaming at the hands of not only her ex Kanye West, who publically shamed her during a recent interview with Power 105.1’s “Breakfast Club” in New York, but also West’s sister-in-law Khloe Kardashian who shamed her for stripping to support her family at a young age.

“[Slut walk] Is important to me because I deal with [slut shaming] everyday,” explained Rose during an interview with Entertainment Tonight’s Brooke Anderson. “I deal with it via social media, people out on the street. They don’t quite understand why I post what I post and how I speak on social media. I recently dealt with my ex [Kanye West] saying that he had to take 30 showers after he’s been with me [reference to his Breakfast Club Interview].”
Rose feels slighted about being slut shamed after being in an amicable relationship with West, and she feels it is unfair. In determining she has had enough and using her celebrity to speak out about an ongoing injustice against women, Rose is here to support the countless amounts of women who deal with the issue of slut shaming regularly.
“…I feel like women deal with [slut shaming] on a daily basis and I am sick of it,” laments Rose to Brooke Anderson while in the comfort of her home. “And I’m here for my girls and we’re going to do the Amber Rose Slut Walk this summer and it’s going to be awesome. I’m going to do it in LA this year, and hopefully New York, Chicago, Miami like branch off.”
The vixen turned socialite has big plans for this year, including releasing her first book “How to Be a Bad Bitch,” a book aimed at catering to what she describes as “self-respecting, strong females who have everything together.” She goes on to explain, “This consists of body, mind, finances and swagger; a woman who gets hers by any means necessary.”
Amber Rose may only appear to be a sexy body and a face to the droves of fans that adore her, but through her current acts she is proving to be a feminist activist in the making.
