This Valentine’s Day, instead of the usual dinner for two at your neighborhood restaurant you and your love go to throughout the year, why not step it up and take a nice road trip to a new place that you have yet to travel to or don’t get to see often? Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to go to your favorite restaurant where everyone knows your name and you know you’re going to enjoy the same, delicious meal you always get, but it’s even better when you and your significant other take a nice getaway to spend some quality time together. To get you started with your bae-cation planning, here are five romantic cities that are sure to set the mood between you and your bae this Valentine’s Day.
New Orleans
One of my favorite cities to visit no matter the occasion, is New Orleans. Home to some of the best dining and typically great weather, New Orleans provides couples with romantic restaurants, beautiful scenery and affordable options to enjoy your trip. To set a romantic ambiance, grab dinner at the cozy Cafe Amelie and sit in the courtyard as the sun sets; afterwards, try a moonlight ride aboard the paddlewheel steamboats.
Savannah, Georgia
Another scenic location where you’re sure to set the mood, is Savannah, Georgia. This coastal city has plenty of romantic options to celebrate Valentine’s Day including eating at rooftop restaurants that overlook the Savannah River such as Rocks on the Roof and taking a riverboat cruise after dinner. If you’re looking for something low-key, enjoy a beautiful walk and candle-lit picnic under the oak trees Forsyth Park.
Denver
If Denver has been on your radar for places to visit, celebrate Valentine’s Day by attending the Valentine’s Day 90s Block Party concert in the Mile-High City. The concert lineup includes Guy featuring Teddy Riley, Jagged Edge, Ginuwine, 112 and Next and is guaranteed to give you the much appreciated 90s nostalgic feel while providing classic hits to keep you and your boo dancing all night long. I mean, if the love doesn’t feel like 90s R&B, who wants it?
