3. Apple Cider Vinegar

While apple cider vinegar isn’t as easy to drink as the first two remedies on this list, it’s certainly known to be as effective. Studies show that apple cider vinegar can help ease an upset stomach and reduce pain.

You may get the benefits of this remedy by drinking a tablespoon of it directly, adding it to a glass of water, or mixing it with honey.

4. Aloe Vera Juice

Aloe vera may not be the easiest to ingest, but it has been proven to soothe heartburn, indigestion, vomiting, and nausea. However, it’s important to note that drinking too much of the juice can result in stomach cramps, so you’ll want to stick to the suggested quantity of one tablespoon one to three times per day. You can make the juice yourself or buy it from the store.

5. Heat

Not all the potential remedies for stomach pain have to be ingested. Sometimes, placing a heating pad or hot towel on your stomach can do the trick. Heat has been shown to relax the muscles, which can cause pain.

If you’re using this option, you shouldn’t keep the heat on your stomach for more than 20-30 minutes at a time.

Possible Causes Of Stomach Pain

One of the issues with stomach pain is that it can be a fairly vague description. In fact, it’s technically defined as any pain between the chest and groin. As a result, stomach pain can be caused by a variety of ailments.

Some of the common ones include indigestion, digestive issues, and the flu.

A few of the more serious ailments that can affect your stomach are appendicitis, pancreatitis, ovarian cysts, pneumonia, endometriosis, and uterine fibroids. That’s why it’s important to know when your stomach pain is an indication of something more significant.

When You Need A Doctor

The first thing you should note is that stomach pain that lasts for more than a few days or doesn’t go away at all is usually cause for concern. You should also seek a doctor if the pain in your stomach is sudden or severe.

Other signs that you need medical intervention are sweating, a tender stomach, bloody stool, vomiting blood, difficulty breathing, unexplained weight loss, chest pain, and jaundice.

If you have stomach pain at the same time of the month or after eating certain foods, then you should bring this to the doctor’s attention as well.

While stomach pain can strike anyone at any time, it’s critical that you know when you’re dealing with a serious ailment. In either case, it’s good to know that certain home remedies can ease your pain while you try to determine the way forward.
