4. Certain foods
If you notice that certain foods bring on your eczema, then be sure to avoid them as often as possible. Some people have sensitivity to cow’s milk, soy, wheat and eggs.
5. Hot showers
Again, because eczema is brought on by dry skin, it’s important to take lukewarm showers instead of super-hot showers. Also, be sure to turn down the thermostat in your house.
6. Other triggers
Products that contain alcohol, fragrances and preservatives can be irritating to your skin. When shopping, look out for products that say “fragrance-free” and contain natural ingredients, such as aloe vera, shea butter and lavender oil – all three are extremely healing and soothing for those who suffer from eczema.
