"Went from acting a fool on tv, to producing shows. Went from being a stripper to my own drink in 14,000 stores. Went from being told I’d never make it to 4 #1 albums on billboard! All while still in my 30’s. Moral of the story is F*ck these people. F*ck the them and they naysayers. Fight for greatness."
Those are the words from singer K. Michelle. She's always kept it real and still keeps it real--even when it's about her shortcomings. Like really real. Her lyrics, her life on her reality show and now after sharing publically that her butt implants were physically making her sick and nearly taking her life, her body is finally real too.
On February 27, 2018, K. Michelle was a guest on the popular Dr. Oz show to talk about her butt implant removal.
On the show, the singer’s doctor, Dr. Michael Niccole, said he was only able to remove 40 percent of the injections, as it would be impossible to remove them all.
Dr. Oz revealed what the injections looked like, pointing to a small sphere the size of a pea.
“Can you all see that? That little ball there, that’s not how big it was, when it was injected. It’s almost the size of my nail,” the talk show host said.
Thousands of pellets were injected into the singer’s bottom, and expanded like “a sponge,” the doctors explained. Dr. Oz also added that they could be carcinogenic which could lead to all types of cancers later in life.
Now, in 2022, as one of the very first celebrities to come forward with her personal health struggles after silicone injections nearly took her life, the now 40-year-old R&B chart-topper helps men and women desperate to reverse plastic surgery procedures that now threaten their lives in her show, "My Killer Body with K. Michelle" on Lifetime.
With the number of cosmetic surgeries on the rise and an alarming number of these procedures resulting in post-surgery suffering and trauma, each episode will follow two patients who desperately need help as well as K. Michelle’s ongoing personal story. My Killer Body with K. Michelle is executive produced by Kimberly Pate.

Singer and reality star K. Michelle lived up to her promises at the end of 2017. She said that within the first two weeks of the year she will be forever removing her butt implants.
She wanted to get them done sooner, but her biggest hurdle was finding a credible doctor to take them out.
Many women like K. Michelle get the implants or the shots, and then find out, it’s not at all what it’s cracked up to be, but then need to get it out. And it’s sometimes even more money to get the implants out.
“So you’ve got these butt shots and you don’t have any money to get it out of you," says K. Michelle. "They don’t tell you about that. So now, January 12, 2018, I am removing these foreign objects out of my body.”
And as of last week, she has done it and is doing well.
"Hey Rebels, I’m doing well," she said to her fans via Twitter. "My surgery went really well yesterday. I’m on bed rest for a while but its all good! I’ll be getting ready to hit the road for the tour starting THIS February! You got your tickets?"
She got the procedure done at CosmetiCare Plastic Surgery Center and sang their praises on Instagram.

She's not only going back to her old, God-given body. She's also is apparently going back to her name: Kimberly Michelle Pate.
"Good[bye] Betsy! It’s been 2much of you stealing my shine," says Kimberly about her butt (she nicknamed her "Betsy") on Instagram. "It’s time to allow my new booty to be set free. I had so much fun Betsy! You were the apple of the eye of several NFL, NBA, and rappers. They loved that ass! But I am proud to say you were not thotful you were lady like! I will miss you and how my jeans fit. But I won’t miss hopping into my jeans every morning. I won’t miss my weight being so up and down that when I’m smaller you have me looking like a chicken drum stick. My ASS is already pregnant how could i ever handle carrying twins also with all that weight my legs would give out. I’ll miss you Betsy but you also caused me inflammation through out my body. No amount of beauty is worth your health! So everything has to be returned to its natural state! Jan I’ll really be Kimberly again."
The inflammation that Kimberly was talking about is something that can happen to implant patients.
The implantation of artificial organs, medical devices, or biomaterials results in injury and initiation of the inflammatory response. This inflammatory response to implants has as its components acute inflammation, chronic inflammation, foreign body reaction with granulation tissue, and macrophage and foreign body giant cell interactions.
But that's not all.
Butt injections using silicone are also extremely dangerous. The silicone is an unstable element and can move from the injection area. Should the silicone move to the lungs or the bloodstream, it can be fatal.
Permanent disfigurement is also possible. Commercial grade silicone is often used for illegal injections and in conjunction with implants or implant procedure, and this type of silicone is not FDA approved. The body may think the silicone is a foreign material and will react adversely.

Another potential risk is the development of abscesses or infections which can cause severe illnesses.
Other potential risks of butt implants include:
- The possibility of excess bleeding, which could create the need for additional surgeries to stop the bleeding
- Fluid can collect around the implant and can potentially leak through the incision. This can entail additional surgery to correct.
- The possibility of nerve damage
